Tanvi

Tanvi is originally a trained classical pianist and found her way into film through music. In college she majored in Literature which also fuelled her desire to tell a story and tell it well. Even though music seemed like the obvious career path, she realised that film was the medium through which she could express herself best. In 2012 her film journey began in the most “indie” way possible - she began shooting video with an old DSLR and learnt how to edit from online tutorials. Her initial work consisted of travelogues and music videos but she gradually transitioned into more story and performance-based films.

Over the last 5 years, she has directed TVCs, digital ads, music videos, content pieces and long-format documentary content. Her films for Paperboat have won a fair amount of advertising awards and have been showcased by Bob Isherwood at the Cannes Lions New Directors Showcase. Her ad-film showreel encompasses brands like H&M, Volvo, Bobbi Brown, Maruti, Google, Magnum, Ford and many others.

In January 2020 Tanvi officially became a part of Equinox Films, the “Youngest Oldest” production house. With Equinox, she has worked on ads for Lakmé, Panteen, Indulekha, but isn’t limiting herself to any one segment - and it's only just the beginning.

Apart from advertising, she regularly works on her own personal projects. She creates videos for the sole purpose of collaborating with people and experimenting with different styles.
