Philosophy. Environmental economics. Mass outreach. Camps for children.
Hardly the career graph of a hugely successful cameraman. But then, Vikash Nowlakha, is no ordinary cameraman.

Having joined a mass communications course to improve his outreach skills, he finally fell in love, with the world of visuals. Vikash spent the next few years paying his dues learning everything he could about the craft of cinema -- editing, visual compositing, animation, sound, camera, production, direction, and then, he zoomed in on his specific area of interest – cinematography.

He re-located to do a course at the New York Film Academy.
He was in the company of ideas and he was telling his stories through visuals. Back in India, he turned for a time to features but, then, found his true métier in advertising.

In Vikash’s words, "Today audiences are more receptive and evolved and I like to create mood; to use my visuals to connect and move my audience emotionally. Commercials allow that. I am really content in the advertising atmosphere."
It was marriage at last.
And, yes, the love affair continues.
